Better Together: Discover the Power of Community by Rusty George is a book that examines why our lives are made better in community.
This is a book that is sure to interest readers who want to learn more about the benefits of connecting and joining the right community.
The first thing I noticed while reading this book is how smooth of a read it is. Rusty has a very conversational tone that I believe will connect with many readers. There is even a good mix of humor throughout the book, but I will add that it may not be every readers cup of tea. There are some things said that may offend some sensitive readers. Either way, I enjoyed his honest approach and his willingness to be transparent about his own shortcomings, mistakes and the lessons he’s learned as a result of them.
I must be completely honest, I am not a fan of books that are loaded with more personal stories than valuable principles that I can extract and apply in my life. Unfortunately, for me and others readers like me, this is a book that is very heavy on the personal stories. This didn’t ruin the book for me, but it did lessen its appeal. With that being said, readers who enjoy and prefer to learn from personal stories are sure to find immense value in this book.
This book does a decent job of exploring the importance of community and how it can benefit readers in a variety of aspects in life, but it definitely left me longing for more. There are great things to be gleaned from this book and I genuinely believe most readers will find loads of value in it.
