I normally don’t start a book review off with how much I enjoyed reading a book, but I must make an exception. She’s Still There: Rescuing the Girl in You by Chrystal Evans Hurst is one of the best books on the topic of self-discovery and renewal that I’ve ever read.

Chrystal does not just share the struggles and victories of her story, but she genuinely connects with the reader by calling us to “remember”, “reflect” and “respond”. The cry is to go forth and “do the work” needed to awaken the sleeping giant within us.

Chrystal threads the stitches of self-rescuing through six profound principles: fighting, discovery, embracing, developing, encouraging and choosing. This intriguing and gripping reading experience will reach depths in your heart, transform your mind and convince you to put Jesus first in every aspect of your life.

I believe this book will cause countless readers to hope again, continue dreaming, write their plans and trust the process with unshakable confidence in the Master’s willingness to reveal the countless treasures hidden inside of them.

Chrystal, be assured that this book will not just be sitting on a shelf. It will be used to save many from drowning in doubt, frustration, and defeat. Thank you Chrystal for baring your soul and helping others to rescue the girl within them too!
