Question We Address and Answer:

  • What does it mean to hear from God?

Key Lessons and Takeaways:

  • How God speaks to us.
  • The importance of asking God to help us hear Him.
  • Why we must unite with God in praise.
  • Hearing from God spiritually vs. naturally.
  • The danger of being too busy to talk to God.
  • Why being connected to God is a requirement if you want to hear from Him.
  • The importance of making sure that what you feel like you heard from God aligns with His Word.

Experiences:

  • Tara explains the value in spending quiet time with God.
  • Tara shares the ways in which she has heard from God.

Scriptures:

  • But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

  • But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”John 5:17 (NKJV)

  • Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)

  • He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.John 8:47 (NKJV)

Excellent episode! I’m growing in my own spiritual journey and before listening to this podcast I was reading my devotion and it talked about being still. And Tara hit it right on the mark being still staying present, quiet and rejoice in the Lord. So today confirmed that I need to dedicate more time to spend with God not just at night but to guide me throughout my day and really hear him.

And Jay you made an excellent point. I believe God speaks to me thru other people, however, I’ve gotten confirmation from Him by literally feeing the Holy Spirit. I could feel that He was talking to me. Even you saying Jesus never said “I thought my Father said” instead He said “My Father said” I knew I felt the Holy Spirit more recently I answered an Altar Call at my friend’s Church it was nothing but the Holy Spirit that led me up there to receive Him and really start building my relationship with God. Such a convicting moment for me!

I am still growing spiritually and I know God sees that I am letting Him in my life more and more each day. So I thank you both Tara and Jay for this amazing episode! God speaks to us in many way it’s just about being patient, still and present!

Have a blessed day both of you!

Hey Yamileé! Thank you so much for listening to this episode with Tara.

Yes, Tara definitely is right about us being willing to be still and spend private time with God.

It’s amazing how God confirms things for us. He is so AWESOME!!!

That’s such a blessing that you were able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow His instruction!

I’m still growing spiritually too. Thankfully, we are not on this journey alone.

Thank you again for listening and being willing to share your thoughts and takeaways with us.
